DENNIS JOSEPH ARMSTRONG

Dennis Joseph Armstrong, 92, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, April 27, 2009 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Denny was born June 4, 1916 in Stratton, Ont. to the late Pat and Loretta Armstrong in the farmhouse his father had built.
He married Mom (Evelyn Berg) on June 26, 1944. Together they had five sons and two daughters, Jack (Lynn) Armstrong of Fort Frances, Ont., Mike Armstrong (Debbie Felske) of Dryden, Ont., Karen (Greg) Higgins of Burlington, Ont., Dan (Paulette) Armstrong of Westerose, Alta., Alvin (Cheryl) Armstrong of Eagle River, Ont., Wayne (Eileen) Armstrong of Stratton, Ont., andJane (Sid) Safronyck of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Dad also is survived by 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Whalen and Eileen McGee, both of Fort Frances, Ont.
He was predeceased by Mom on April 4, 2008; sister, Teresa Nordlund; one infant child; and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Denny had a great love for music and was very talented with many instruments. His other great pastime was story-telling.
Funeral services to celebrate Denny’s life will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Church in Pinewood.
Fr. Alan Albao will officiate, followed by interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Stratton.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Our Lady of the Way Church, with vigil prayers being held at 7 p.m.
