John Ernest Carmody passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 in hospital in Nanaimo, B.C. at the age of 68.
Born in Fort Frances, Ont., he attended school in Fort Frances and Moose Jaw, Sask. He returned to Fort Frances, where he finished Grade 10 and then went to work in the O&M paper mill.
He moved to Calgary, Alta. in 1974, and then in a few years to Nanaimo and made that his home.
He leaves to mourn his son, Troy (Sharron) of Edson, Alta.; twin brother, Jim (Freeda) Carmody of Devlin, Ont.; grandchildren, Alexander, Melana, Shelly, Sheila, and Shawn; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Grace Carmody; father, Lloyd Carmody; brother, Earl; sister, Gene; and brother-in-law, Jim Springer.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.
