LYALL BENINGER

Peacefully, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont, Lyall Beninger, formerly of Chapple Township, Ont., passed away at the age of 92.
Lyall was born Aug. 2, 1916 in Chapple Township to the late Robert and Elizabeth Beninger.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Radbourne on Jan. 1, 1941. Together they resided in Black Hawk, Ont., later moving to their new home just west of Emo along Highway 11 with their four boys.
Lyall operated the Black Hawk store, as well as logged and had his own pulp truck. Before retiring, he worked at the Emo OPP station as a maintenance person.
Lyall and Dorothy always enjoyed their winters in Texas.
He will be lovingly remembered by his boys, Murray (Sharlene) of Fort Frances, Ont., Ted (Glenda) of Vancouver, B.C., and Robert (Marnie) of Emerson Man.; daughter-in-law, Laurie (John) Callan of Bears Pass, Ont.; grandchildren, Murray, Dane (Kyla), Neil, Daniel, Robyn, Bradley (Jo), and Julie (Todd); and great-grandchildren, Trey, Mya, Paul, Katie and Tyler.
Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Peggy Radbourne; special nephew, Gerald Seed; niece, Maxine Howarth; good friend, Jeanie Gagnon, who helped dad stay in his own home; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and good friends.
Lyall was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; son, Dan; grandson, Paul; brothers, Louis, Samuel, and Delbert Beninger; and sisters, Sadie Bowen, Bernie Thorton, and Hazel Seed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
Interment in Barwick Cemetery in Chapple Township.
The pallbearers will be Bob Radbourne, Walter Radbourne, Paul Radbourne, Willy Cole, Monty Howarth, and Mark Howarth.
The honourary pallbearers will be Lyall’s grandchildren.
