Mildred Stamarski, 88, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Mildred was born Feb. 21, 1920 in Fort Frances to the late Archie and Nanie Rose. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League in Fort Frances.
She loved flowers and enjoyed sitting in the window watching all the birds. She also enjoyed her trips with her husband, Stan, to Las Vegas, which they took regularly for 30 years.
She was united in marriage Feb. 20, 1941 to Stan, who survives along with their three sons, Richard (Carolyn) of Fort Frances, Ont., Dale (Sheri) of Burriss, Ont., and Michael (special friend Lynda Albert) of Toronto, Ont.
Also left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Patricia Stamarski of Kingston, Ont.; grandchildren, Chris, Andrew, Rodney, Danielle, Bobbi, Jeremy, Jonathan, Ashley, Cailin, Heather, and Heidi; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin (Mary) Rose and Wayne (Catherine) Rose, all of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Duane Stamarski; her parents, Archie and Nanie (Hayrd) Rose; three sisters, Lucille, Ernestine, and Bernice; and three brothers, Theodore, Earl, and Frank.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiated, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Chris Stamarski, Andrew Stamarski, Rodney Stamarski, Jonathan McCoy, Ryan Wyder, and Steve Buttner.
Friends visited with the family on Friday from 9:30-10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
