Cynthia Lou Yerxa, 38, of Big Island First Nation, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Cynthia was born Nov. 1, 1969 in Fort Frances. She had lived all her life in Rainy River District.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children. She was a great Mommy and daughter, and a good friend, cousin, and auntie.
She enjoyed music and played the guitar. She also loved gambling, going to the casino, and playing bingo.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Kevin, Brett, and Whitney Tuesday; and her parents, Wayne and Margaret Yerxa.
Also surviving are her five siblings, Dwayne, Kevin, and Jason Yerxa, Darlene (John) Gibbins, and Jessica Yerxa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jennifer, in 1973; and her grandparents, Clara and William Handorgan, and Frances and Bert Yerxa.
A traditional funeral service was held Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the multi-use facility on Couchiching First Nation, followed by interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery on Couchiching.
A funeral wake was held Sunday, March 23, 2008 from 3 p.m. at the multi-use facility.
The pallbearers were Dennis Big George, Robert Handorgan, Brian Yerxa, Vernon Tuesday, Sheldon Perrault, and Wesley Debungee.
