LIN J. BOILEAU

Our Dad, Lin Boileau, peacefully passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 with his family at his side.
Lin was born to Jean and Marie Louise Boileau in Fort Frances, Ont. on June 22, 1918.
A patriotic Canadian, Dad was proud to have served his country in World War II as a Royal Canadian Air Force navigator.
While stationed in England in 1942, Dad met the love of his life, Jean. They were happily married for 65 years, and he was the caring father of nine children.
Dad was dedicated to his community, and involved in many of the clubs and organizations. His most honoured accomplishment was to be named, with Mom, as Citizen of the Year in 2002.
His famous ticket-selling abilities brought a smile to everyone. The Fort Frances Public Library and the Kiwanis Club will miss him. Many others will fondly remember his booming laugh and his teasing personality.
Dad was a very devoted and loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We loved him for his unique personality and character. We were very fortunate to have had this extraordinary man in our lives who taught us how to be strong, passionate, and loyal.
Dad is survived by his wife, Jean. Together they saw the passing of their infant daughter, Jocelyn, and sons, Michael and Louis.
Left to forever treasure his memory are Tammy Boileau, Marjory Boileau, Anne and Alan Zucchiatti, Giselle and Bryan Calder, Dorese and Roger Harrison, Paul and Heather Boileau, Michelle and Tom Reid, and Andrea and Jim Avis.
Dad again would be proud to say he had many, many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances. Cremation has taken place and a private internment will follow at a later date.
At Dad’s request, in memoriam donations can be made to the Fort Frances Public Library’s “Building for the Future,” 363 Church St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3S1.
God bless you, Dad. We will miss you.
