MURIEL KERNENE

    Muriel Kernene passed away at the Pelican Garden Nursing Home in Vera Beach, Fla. on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the age of 88.
    Muriel was born in Winnipeg, Man. on August 14, 1918, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Costello.
    She will be greatly missed by her daughter Beverly Tyne of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Dennis and Michael Pollard and five great-grandchildren, her brother Howard J. Costello and sister-in-law Eva Costello of Fort Frances, Ont. and brother-in-law Jack Calvert of International Falls, Min. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her husband Charles, her parents Christopher Isaac Costello and Sadie McCauley (McKay) Costello; her son Howard Jim Tyne, daughter Maria Hawkins, sister Mildred Calvert and brother Lawrence Costello.
    Muriel spent the greater part of her life owning and operating black bear camps at Nestor Falls, Ont. and various motels throughout the district.
    Cremation has taken place in Sabastian , Fla. A memorial service also will be held in Sabastian where she spent the last 28 years of her life.
