It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden and accidental passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Beverley May Hyatt, 64, of Burriss Township, Ont. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001.
Bev was born March 29, 1936 in Rainy River, Ont. to Allan and Gwen King. She spent her childhood in Stratton, Ont., and attended the Patullo School. She later graduated from the Fort Frances High School.
She wed George Hyatt on Feb. 18, 1955 and in June, 1958, they moved to the farm in Burriss, where they still farm.
She is survived by her loving husband, George, of 46 years. She also is survived by her children, Cheryl (Alvin) Armstrong, Gordon (Pat), Charlene (Ron) McTavish, Doug (Mary), Charlotte, Shawn (Tracy), Shelly (Kelvin) Caul, and Shirley (Bob) Bird.
She also leaves to mourn 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Elaine (Garry) Desserre, June (Ron) Desserre, Carol (Russell) Willis, and Doreen (Glen) Wrolstad, all of Dryden, Ont.
She was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Gwen; and sister, Marlene.
Her pride and joy were her family, friends, and farm. Her kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Her door was always open and the coffee was always on. Her favourite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, quilting, and gardening for her family.
She took great pleasure in showing off the most recent picture of her grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo, Ont., with Pastor Pat White officiating. Friends visited with the family on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001 from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Interment will take place in Burriss Cemetery in Burriss at a later date.
Pallbearers were her 11 granddaughters, Jackie McMurich, Brenda Tesarski, Crystal Hyatt, Angela Hyatt, Sarah McTavish, Tina Hyatt, Stephanie Hyatt, Kerry Hyatt, Jennifer Caul, Emily Bird, and Shannon Bird.
Honourary pallbearers were her six grandsons, Brad Armstrong, Graham McTavish, Matt Hyatt, Jeremy Hyatt, Jeff Hyatt, and Jason Caul.
