Edward Dustin

Edward Dustin, 74, of 215 Black Rd., Atikokan, Ont., passed away Friday, March 23, 2001 at the Atikokan General Hospital in Atikokan.
Edward was born Sept. 2, 1926 in Port Arthur, Ont. to the late Edward and Abigail Dustin. On Oct. 14, 1949 in Port Arthur, he was united in marriage to the former Eileen Nylund.
In 1956, the family moved to Atikokan, where Edward worked at C.A.C. (Steeprock Iron Mine). The following year, he established and operated his own business, “Dusty’s Place,” where he worked as a mechanic and machinist for 44 years.
Edward had a thirst for knowledge and believed in its importance to succeed in the world. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Atikokan for many years.
He also was predeceased by one brother, Bud; one sister, Francis; one brother-in-law, Fred; and two sons-in-law, Tauno Kivari and Jim Cameron.
Edward is survived by his wife, Eileen Dustin of Atikokan, Ont.; one son, Edward and wife, Bev, of Elkford, B.C.; and two daughters, Linda and husband, George Barrett, of Emo, Ont., and Rosemarie Dustin of Evansburg, Alta.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Jonathan, Michaelene, and Matthew Dustin of Elkford, B.C., Danny Kivari of Peterborough, Ont., Tammy and husband, Stewart McLauclan, of Winnipeg, Man., and Elizabeth, Wayne, and Jennifer Cameron, and Amanda, Melissa, and Heather Dustin, all of Edmonton, Alta.; one great-grandson, Aaron McLauclan of Winni-peg, Man.; two sisters, Betty Robin-son of Montieth, Ont., and Florence Kidd of Weston, Ont.; and four nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the First Fellowship Baptist Church in Atikokan. Pastor Bert Baxter and Pastor Ken Stainthorpe officiated, with interment in Little Falls Cemetery in Atikokan at a later date.
Visitation was held Monday, March 26, 2001 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Visitation Chapel in Atikokan.
Pallbearers were Joe Veran, Dan Whaley, Graig Boileau, Dan Kivari, Bob Davidson, and Frank Mullner.
