FAY IOLA WARREN

Fay Warren, 87, of Rainy River, Ont., passed away at the Rainy River Health Centre on Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
She was born Oct. 11, 1912 in Keoma, Alta. to the late Arnold and Maude Radke but Fay moved to Stratton, Ont. during her youth. She later attended Normal School in North Bay, and following graduation taught elementary school in Gameland for a few years.
While living in Gameland, she met and later married Fred Warren on Sept. 1, 1937.
Fay was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland. At home, she loved gardening and looking after her flowers. In 1996, Fay moved to Rainy River, where she had lived since.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Warren on Feb. 20, 1996; and by her son, Gilbert Warren.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Iona Godin of Gameland, Ont.; three grandchildren, Michael of Rainy River, Ont., Cynthia and husband, David Hamilton, of Meredian, Miss., and Teresa and husband, Tony McDowell, of Portland, Ore.; six great-grandchildren, Victoria, Kristina, Mathieu, Kyle, Travis, and Cheyenne; one sister, Charlotte Lauret of Courtney, B.C.; and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, Ont. Rev. Robert Ek officiated, with interment in Blue Cemetery in Blue Township, Ont.
Friends visited Tuesday, May 23, 2000 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Rainy River Funeral Home in Rainy River, Ont.
Pallbearers were Dan Medwechuk, Lee Johnson, Stan Peterson, Irvin Selman, Don Beyak, and Rick Hagarty.
Honourary pallbearers were Wilfred Johnson, Beatrice Medwechuk, Joyce Albright, Victor Tolen, and Dot Tolen.
