Ronald (Ron) W. Martin

Ronald (Ron) W. Martin passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, Man. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001. He was born in McIrvine Township, Ont., in 1918.
He had lived in various parts of Canada, including Sioux Lookout, Kenora, Calgary, Thunder Bay, and most recently Winnipeg.
Ron was a member of the Masonic Lodge #668 of Atikokan.
Predeceased by his wife, Mary-Lou in 1989, Ron is survived by his wife, Eileen (Jack) of Winnipeg and his former first wife of 26 years, Geraldeane Mallory of Calgary.
He also is survived by daughter, Tannis (Frank) Reinhardt of Windsor, N.S. and son, Lynn (Dawna) of Calgary; three stepsons, Gary Assels of Ear Falls, Ont., Brian (Lil) Assels of Adelaide, Australia, and Marty Anderson of Swan River, Man.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Stan) McLaren of Winni-peg, Man.; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place in Winnipeg, with a celebration of life to be held in Atikokan in May, 2002.
In lieu of flowers, Ron requested donations be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, Man., R3C 2R2.
