It is with heavy hearts that the family of Billy-Jean McKee announces her sudden passing on Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Red Lake, Ont., which has been her home for the past three years.
Billy was born in Winnipeg, Man. on July 13, 1981 but she lived her childhood years in Fort Frances, Ont. After graduating from Murdock McKay High School in Winnipeg, Billy studied nursing at Seven Oaks Hospital.
She was a compassionate and caring nurse, where she was employed at the Harmony Center in Red Lake. Her genuine concern for others always exceeded her own needs.
Billy had a great love for the outdoors, which was fulfilled by the scenic beauty of her home in Red Lake. By all those whose lives she touched, she was known for her gift of mercy, love, and dedication to her family and friends.
Billy was predeceased by her fiancée, Dylan Zubrecki; her father, Walter McKee; uncle, Robbie McKee; grandmother, Evora Crowe; cousin, Micheal Kearney; and great-grandfather, Bob Dixon.
She is survived by her mother, Jenny Bodnar; stepfather, Glen Bodnar; grandparents, Bob and Ethel McKee; brothers, James and Jacob McKee; grandfather, David Crowe; great-grandmother, Jenny Dixon; and step-grandparents, Mike and Lillian Bodnar.
She also is survived by her uncles, Jamie (Liz) McKee, Dave (Elaine) Crowe, Allan (Mary) Morrisseau, Joe (Kathy) Bodnar; aunties, Colleen (Ed) Taylor, Bonnie (Lawrence) Simmons, Karen (Bob) McTavish, Alfreda (Mike) Kearney, and Anita (Tony) Vanderaa; and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Gary Crowe officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers will be Ed Taylor, Bob McTavish, Dave Crowe, Lawrence Simmons, Joe Bodnar, Ron Taylor, Jamie McKee, and Tony Vanderaa.
The honourary pallbearers will be Jenna Gerley, Kristy McTavish, Kaily Bodnarchuk, Alysia McTavish, Carrie Andrusco, Candace Kadikoff, Cherie Serrano, and Debbie Cozi.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away.
