In loving memory of Lynne van Rooyen, age 55, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2002 in Atikokan, Ont.
Lynne was born on March 4, 1947 to the late Harold and Anna Clare Tibbs in Pasadena, Texas. She moved with her family to Fort Frances as a young child.
Lynne was united in marriage to Adrian van Rooyen on Sept. 17, 1966, and together they settled in Atikokan.
Lynne spent several years volunteering with the Little Theatre Group, spending many hours perfecting the actors makeup. She loved books and would read anything. Her favourite place was the cabin on Rainy Lake.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Adrian; son, Scott (Monique), of Riviere Qui Barre, AB; daughter, Gena van Rooyen of Hamilton, Ont.; grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Keegan, and Liam; siblings, Marty (Sharon) Tibbs of Fort Frances, Ont.; Raymond Tibbs of San Diego, Ca., Lenne (Ken) Klopfer of Cromwell, CT, and Tommy Tibbs of Minot, N.D. and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lynne was predeceased by her parents Harold and Ann Clare Tibbs.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Atikokan, Ont., with Rev. Mr. John McInnis officiating.
The honourary pallbearers were all of her family and friends.
Cremation took place in Thunder Bay, Ont., and interment will take place at a later date.
