LEO RALPH BROWN

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Ralph Brown of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., on Monday, March 26, 2007 at his residence.
Leo was born Jan. 30, 1925 in Emo, Ont. to the late Walter and Violet Brown. As a child, he was raised in Fort Frances.
During WWII, Leo served with the Royal Canadian Navy overseas until his discharge from the services. Following the war, he returned home and was united in marriage to the former Alice Drennan.
In earlier years, Leo worked with the Fort Frances Public Utilities for a number of years. Later on, he was employed by Bell Canada, where he worked as a line technician until his retirement in 1984.
Leo was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances.
His greatest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, at home or at the cottage on Matheson Bay in Morson. He also loved to fish and hunt in the district.
Leo is survived by his wife, Alice Brown of Fort Frances, Ont.; two daughters, Kathy (Greg) Edenburn and Janice (David) Brown, all of Dryden, Ont..; two sons, Gerg (Kristine) Brown of Rainy River, Ont., and David Brown of Fort Frances, Ont.; nine grandchildren, Jeffery (Silvana) Edenburn, Erin Mackie, Ryan Brown, James (Amanda) Brown, Sarah Brown, Seneca Brown, Spencer Brown, Justin Brown, and Lyndon Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Barett Edenburn, Kaden Mackie, Kyle Mackie, and Talia Brown.
Also surviving are one brother, Douglas Brown; five sisters, Shirley Brown, Myrtle Armstrong, Wilma (Ron) Redford, Doug (Edith) Brown, and Betty (Jack) Toews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Alvin, Clarence, Charles, Lonie, and Stan Brown; one sister, Violet McDonnell; and two grandchildren, Allison Brown and Lindsay Paull.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, with Pastor Brian Keffer officiating.
Cremation will take place at the Rainy River Cremation Service in International Falls, Mn. Interment will take place in McInnes Cemetery at a later date.
The pallbearers will be Gregg Edenburn, Jeff Edenburn, Dave Brown, Ryan Brown, Greg Brown, and David Brown.
The honourary pallbearers will be Glen Canfield, Herb Nelson, Bob Locking, and Doug Brown.
