DENNIS WAYNE KING
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Wayne King, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, at his residence in the loving arms of his wife, Diane, on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007.
Dennis was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on Sept. 28, 1945 to Shirley King and the late Randall William (Bill) King.
He leaves behind his wife, Diane, whom he shared 42 wonderful years with; son, Dennis Jr. (Lea); daughter, Cindy Gale (Don); and grandchildren, Donald, Jami-Lee, Brenden, and Ryan.
Also left to mourn are his mom, Shirley of Fort Frances, Ont.; mother-in-law, Irene Daley (Tom) of Thunder Bay, Ont.; brothers, Dale (Gail) of Medicine Hat, Alta. and Terry (Lori) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sisters, Diane Albright (Bill) and Janice Mundle (Cliff) of Fort Frances, Ont., and Tammy Hurd (Harold) of Calgary, Alta.; sisters-in-law, Connie Devall (Richard) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Linda Erickson (Rick) of Calgary, Alta., and Laurie (Dave) of Regina, Sask.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dennis was predeceased by his father, Randall William; and his brother, Richard.
Dennis began his career in Fort Frances with the CNR as a switchman and was transferred to the Symington Yard in Winnipeg, Man. in 1976 until his retirement in 1999.
He enjoyed retirement, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved sports and enjoyed watching them on his widescreen. He loved working in his yard, his daily morning walks, and biking.
He also loved dogs and leaves behind his very special friends, his Shelties, Shawny, Penny, Dakota, and Gypsy.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at the Glenlawn Memorial 982 Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Man.
