Florence Bonner passed away peacefully from a stroke at the South Muskoka District Hospital in Bracebridge, Ont. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007.
Florence was born in Cranbrook, B.C.
She was married in August, 1939 to Jim Bonner, who served with Canadian Immigration. They made their home in Fort Frances, Ont. in 1955 after living for eight years in the British Isles.
Florence was an avid bridge player and traveller, parasailing in Mexico in her late 60s. She also was a member of the Fort Frances Order of the Eastern Star, a co-ordinator for the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau, and a devoted secretary at Knox United Church.
She remained in Fort Frances until September, 2006, when she moved to Muskoka to be closer to her children.
Missed by her son, Mickey, and her daughter, Penny; daughter-in-law, Penny, and son-in-law, Eric Johnson; grandsons, Kevin and Ryan (Jennifer); and great-grandsons, Riley, Aidan, and Dylan.
Florence was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 1974.
The family thanks the caring nursing staff of La Verendrye General Hospital and South Muskoka District Hospital.
