SHIRLEY NOREEN BRIGDEN

Shirley Noreen Brigden was born May 31, 1931 in Fort Frances, Ont. She attended school in Fort Frances and worked in Nestor Falls, Ont. as a cabin girl, where she met her future husband, Harry.
They were married March 5, 1955 in Victoria, B.C. After they were married, they lived in Victoria, Fort Frances, Atikokan, Red Lake Road, and Ear Falls.
Shirley was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Baptist Church in Ear Falls.
Shirley was a good wife and mother. She was always there with her gentle nature. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, going to all their birthday parties, spending every Christmas with them , watching them figure skate and making their outfits, knitting all their mitts, sweaters, hats, and socks for them.
Shirley enjoyed having “sleep-overs” with her grandchildren, and they all fought over who would have the privilege of sleeping at Grammies.
Shirley also enjoyed gardening and her houseplants. She was well-known for her green thumb that could grow anything.
Mom will be sadly missed by all her friends and family.
“We miss you, Mom, and love you very much. Now you are up with Dad and Randy, where you always wanted to be. Say hi to Dad and Randy for us. We love you all and miss you very much,” love your kids.
“Tell Dad I am taking care of everyone and everything here. I hope that he is proud of me, and I hope I am doing things the way he would like them done,” love your little girl, Barb.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving children, Wayne, Barb (Kevin Gillcash), and Jerry (April); grandchildren, Carla (Greg Adams), Devin and Camille Gillcash, and Jerami and Ryan Brigden; and great-granddaughter, Kittira Adams.
Shirley also will be sadly missed by her brother, Billy Gray of International Falls, Mn.; and sisters, Bev Asselin (Rene) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Glenda Gardner of Moscow, Idaho, and Colleen Gray of Dryden, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion in Ear Falls, with Rev. Audrey Hazelwood officiating.
Interment in the Ear Falls Cemetery will follow the service.
Visitation will be held Saturday in the Royal Canadian Legion in Ear Falls from noon until service time.
