Louis Kirkrude Jr., age 29, of 103 Third Street, Rainy River, Ont., passed away at his residence on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1973 in Rainy River, Ont. Louis attended grade school and high school in Rainy River. He worked for four years at Marvin Windows in Warroad, Mn., and for a while at Tamarak Lodge in Morson, and Grassy Narrows Resort as a dock boy.
Most recently, Louis had worked for Maple Leaf in Brandon, Man. For enjoyment, Louis loved fishing with his father. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and playing with his nieces and nephews.
Louis was very musical, and enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar that he was recently learning.
He was predeceased by his sister Patti; step grandfather, Henry Gott; his cousin Jeffrey Kirkrude; his uncle Larry Hutchins; his cousin Randy Kirkrude; grandmother, Ruth Kirkrude; uncle Brian Kirkrude; and by his grandfather George Kirkrude Sr.
Louis is survived by his parents, Lollie and Louis Kirkrude of Rainy River, Ont.; one sister, Sandy and husband Sheldon Quill, of Brandon, Man.; four nieces, Ashley, Brittany, Cassandra, and Rashel; one nephew, Brenden Lance; aunts, Bell (Bill) Andy, Martha and husband Jerry Blight, all of Morson, Ont.; uncle George Kirkrude and wife Angie, of Fort Frances, Ont.; aunts, Lorraine (Clarence) Kirkrude of Morson, Ont., Georgina Kirkrude of Rainy River, Ont., Susan, Kriss, Jenny Archie and Lena Gott all of Winnipeg, Man.; uncle Leslie Hutchins of Toronto, Ont.; and numerous relatives in and around Ontario and Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ont. Deacon George Chojko-Bolec will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ont.
Friends may visit Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Tuesday, Jamie Archie, Thomas Morrison, Marshall Morrison, Bradley Kirkrude and Oliver Gibbons.
Honourary pallbearers will be Rod Traverse, Clarence Gibbons, Mike Morrison, Phillip Andy, Robert Kirkrude, Ryan Kirkrude, Johnny Kirkrude and Bill Morrison.
Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your own choice.
