In loving memory of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, June 1, 2003.
Bernice was born June 12, 1932 in Portage La Prairie, Man., the eldest child of Harry and Marg Lipinski. At an early age, the family moved to Fort Frances, Ont., where she lived for the rest of her life.
Bernice was a friendly and caring person who lived for her family. Life revolved around her five children, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She and her husband, Jim, spent many happy hours at the lake fishing, blueberry picking, and collecting rocks (one of Mom’s many delights). Her other interests included sewing, horticulture, and her church life.
Bernice worked for 27 years at La Verendrye Hospital in the medical records department. Her fellow employees became dear to her, and she visited “the girls” often after her retirement in 1992.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Jim, of 51 years; daughters, Barbara and husband, Tony Johnstone, and their children, Mary Jo, Alexandra, and Mark, of Winfield, Kan., Susan and husband, Paul Neurinski, and their children, Jonathan and Jill, of Fort Frances, Ont., and JoAnne and husband, Rick Gallicano, and their children, Jennifer, Holly, and Jody, of Surrey, B.C.; and sons, Bruce Wright and children, Ashley and Brandon, of Brampton, Ont., and Murray Wright and wife, Dorla, and their children, Jenna-Rae and Lindsay, of Fort Frances, ont.
She also is survived by a great-granddaughter, Isabelle.
Other survivors include her sister, Roselyn Douglas of Thunder Bay, Ont.; brothers, Karl Lipinski (Loretta) and Alexander Kaczorek (Linda), all of Fort Frances, Ont.; nieces, Amy Falloon and Jody Kaczorek; and nephews, Glenn and Gary Lipinski, and Christopher Douglas.
Bernice was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mary Lipinski; daughter, Jacqueline Mary; and niece, Alyson Douglas.
A memorial mass was held Friday, June 6, 2003 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Ed Merchant (S.J.) officiating.
Interment has taken place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Fort Frances Public Library or the charity of one’s choice.
“You left us precious memories. Your love will be our guide. You live on through your children. You’ll always be by our side.”
