CHARLES EDWARD ‘CHARLIE’ SHARP

Charles Edward “Charlie” Sharp, 79, of Stratton, Ont., passed away Monday, July 28, 2003 in Winnipeg, Man.
Charlie was born in Stratton and had lived all his life there. He had worked as a general contractor in the district, and had enjoyed operating his backhoe and trucks. He also had done some farming and enjoyed spending time in the coffee shop.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood and also was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Charlie is survived by his two brothers and two sisters, Conrad (Lydia) Sharp of Stratton, Ont., Lawrence (Ann) Sharp of Hamilton, Ont., Mary Macklin of Winnipeg, Man., and Helen (Norman) Steele of Atikokan, Ont.
Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Albina Sharp of Winnipeg, Man.; brother-in-law, Vern Kovar of Victoria, B.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, David and Theresa Sharp; one brother, Eugene Sharp; and one sister, Doris Kovar.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood. Fr. James Panikulam officiated, with interment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Stratton.
Vigil prayers were offered Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood.
Pallbearers were David Sharp, Kip Sharp, Terry Sharp, Michael Sharp, Paul Cousineau, and Larry Steele.
Honourary pallbearers were all of Charlie’s family and friends.
