Willie Perrault found peace, with his family by his side, on Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.
Willie was born June 1, 1943 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Veronica and Anselm Perrault. He lived in this area all of his life.
As a young man, he joined the U.S. Army; he was stationed in Germany and spent a short time in Vietnam. After returning home, he was the first Couchiching constable and then worked with Manpower for many years.
Willie enjoyed all sports, especially playing baseball and coaching hockey. He also was an avid reader. Willie truly enjoyed his time with his family and was no stranger to a deck of cards.
Willie is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Frohlich, Sandra Loveday, and Leona Perrault; granddaughters, Cassandra and Nicole; siblings, Dorothy Cargill, Jean Bruyere, Patrick (Pat) Perrault and wife, Lillian, and Larry Perrault and wife, Edith; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; as well as his dear friend, Wilf Morrisseau.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anselm and Veronica Perrault; siblings, William (Mutto) Perrault, Mary Jourdain, Priscilla Perrault and her husband, Pete Howells, Louie Perrault, Gilbert Perrault, and Martin Perrault.
A wake will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 starting at 6 p.m., with prayers at 7 p.m. at the Couchiching Bingo Hall.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Couchiching Bingo Hall. Deacon Elmer Mainville and Elder Gilbert Smith will officiate, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Couchiching First Nation, Ont.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Bruyere, Donnie Howells, Carl Howells, Jim McMahon, Robert Perreault, and Gilbert Perreault Jr.
Honourary pallbearers will be Wilf Morrisseau, Glenn Jourdain, Bill Neurinski, Don Morrisseau, Don Jourdain, and Eugene McPherson.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
