EMIL JAMES ‘SKINNER’ MORNEAU

Emil James “Skinner” Morneau, 80, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances on Oct. 2, 2003.
He was born Feb. 13, 1923 in Fort Frances to the late Joseph and Alma Morneau.
Emil had lived in Fort Frances all his life. He had worked as a school bus driver for 27 years before his retirement in 1987. He also was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas.
He enjoyed fishing, puttering around the yard, and woodworking, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Skinner was united in marriage to the former Marge Grouette on March 2, 1957, who survives along with their two children, Judy (Al) Johnstone and Nancy (Ted) Asselin, all of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jeremy and Brody; one brother, Edward Morneau of Fort Frances, Ont.; three sisters-in-law, Blanche Morneau of Fort Frances, Ont., Julie Morneau of Oregon, and Muriel Bell of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Alma; brothers, Adelard and Alfred (Joe) Morneau; and sisters, Yvonne Loveland and Corrine Cross.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 “Colour Party” performed its Legion Tribute following the service.
The honourary pallbearers were all of Skinner’s family and friends.
