John Dittaro, 56, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004 at La Verendrye Hospital here.
John was born Jan. 16, 1948 in Fort Frances, where he grew up and raised his own family. He was married to Patricia Langstaff on May 22, 1971.
He worked for the board of education as a custodian for about 30 years until his retirement in July, 2002.
John was a humble, well-liked man who endeared himself to many with his sense of humour and infectious laugh. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandpa, cousin, nephew, grandson, and co-worker, and friend of everyone, including his God, Jehovah, and God’s Son, Christ Jesus.
Camping, biking, baking, going for walks, and sharing his faith with others were among his favourite activities. He also enjoyed watching old movies, especially comedies. John loved to laugh with his dear family and close friends.
John is survived by his wife, Patty; daughter, Jen; sons, Chris (Billie-Jo) and Brad (Kerri); two grandchildren, Sarah and Jace; his parents, Henry and Viola Dittaro; his sisters, Rosalyn (Dick) Armit and Kathy (Bill) James; his brother, Rick (Cammy) Dittaro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Betty-Ann St. Peter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
