Frank Jordan Sr.

Frank Jordan Sr., 80, of Lac La Croix First Nation, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Frank was born Oct. 8, 1922 in Lac La Croix First Nation to Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Jordan. He lived in Lac La Croix all his life. Frank’s parents passed away when he was a young boy and he was raised by Amelia Burnside.
He was united in marriage to Helen Ottertail on Sept. 20, 1961.
He worked as a guide all of his life until losing his sight.
Frank was very knowledgeable about the native traditions and was a talented pow-wow singer. He loved visiting with family and friends. Frank particularly enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife, Helen; children, Alice (Rob) Chishel, Dora (Dave Gerts) Ottertail, Norma Jordan, Dorothy Jordan, Norman (Angie) Jordan, Frank Jordan Jr., Melba (Leonard Ottertail) Jordan, and Harvey (Sue) Jordan; grandchildren, Marilyn, Melvin, Sylvia, Kathy, Shawn, Greg, Jake, Richilda, Tina, Nathaniel, Julian, Jocelyn, Jeremy, Jessica, Jerad, Dakota, Shauna, Nikki, Aaron, Keyshawn, Dyson, Justice, and Journey; and numerous greatgrandchildren.
Frank was predeceased by his parents; and adopted mother, Amelia Burnside.
A wake will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 from 2 p.m. at the family home in Lac Lac Croix First Nation.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the family home in Lac La Croix First Nation. Elder Jim Boshkaykin will officiate, with interment in the Lac La Croix Cemetery.
