JOHN LIBERTE ‘BERT’ DRYTON BRIDGE

Word has been received at Fort Frances of the passing of John Liberte “Bert” Dryton Bridge, who passed away suddenly in hospital at Ottawa, Ont. on Feb. 25, 2004 at the age of 85.
He was born in Winnipeg, Man. and became a teacher by profession, teaching in Manitoba, Fort Frances, Ont.,Carleton Place, Ont., and Almonte, Ont. secondary schools.
He also served in the Canadian Army during World War Two and survived the raid on Dieppe.
He was the beloved husband of Jean Reekie; loving father of Ainsley (Chuck) Gillespie, Norma Jean (Laura White), and Jamie (Lynda Bahm) Bridge; and dear grandpa to seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of whom survive.
He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service was held at Kerry Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, with interment at Auld Kirk Cemetery in Almonte, Ont.
