On Dec. 29, 2004, Fred passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, with his family by his side, at the age of 73.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Julia; his step-mother, Alma Volk; sons, Larry (Liz) and Eugene (Krys); daughters, Patty (Ron) Meunier, with children, Bradley (Amy) and David (Carol), Karen (Patrick) Wilkes with children, Heather and Ryan, and Evelyn (Richard) Roy with children, Adam and Aaron; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Helen, and father, Fred Sr.; son, Arthur; and mother- and father-in-law.
Fred was born and raised in Saskatchewan and moved in 1954, after marriage, to Fort Frances, Ont.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. Many thanks to all the friends who gave support during this difficult time.
A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Fort Frances Legion, followed by a luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
