On Friday August 4, 2006 in Fort Frances, Evelyn M. Engels, formerly of Bergland, passed away peacefully at the age of 60.
Lovingly remembered by daughters Brenda Fletcher of Winnipeg, Trudy Engels of Emo, and son Curtis Engels also of Winnipeg. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Chris, Samantha, Jessica and Slater.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Ray (1991), her parents William and Mary Brown, foster parents Jack and Mary (Nan) Alcock, and sister Patsy Brown and brother Bruce Brown.
Evelyn was born in Bigsby, Ont. on April 27, 1946 and grew up in the Jaffray Melick-Kenora area with her foster family. In 1965 while working in Sioux Narrows, she met her husband Ray. They resided in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay before settling in the McCrosson-Tovell area to raise their family.
Evelyn enjoyed her life as a homemaker and her main passion was her family. Her biggest smiles were when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
In earlier years she was known for her skills as an artist, which later transformed into a love for wood working.
Evelyn will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Rainycrest who showed such care and compassion for all the years she resided there.
A memorial service will be held at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. Father D. Dabano Celebrant. Interment in Bergland Cemetery will be held at a later date.
