MARION AUDREY LARSON

It is with heavy hearts and deepest sorrows we announce the passing of our mother.
Marion Audrey Larson, 73, of Emo, Ont., passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo.
She was born on May 29, 1932 in Winnipeg, Man. to the late Romeo and Audrey McDougall.
On May 23, 1953, Marion was united in marriage to the late John Larson. Marion and John started their lives together in Mulvihill, Man., where they began farming.
Marion stayed at home for many years with her boys.
Then after several moves, Marion and her family settled in Emo in 1966, where they farmed in Lash Township. From 1970-81, Marion and John owned and operated a cafe, “The Country Kitchen.”
For 27 years, Marion was employed as a matron for the Emo O.P.P. After retiring as matron, she found great pleasure in spending Monday afternoons volunteering at the Emo O.P.P. detachment.
Included in the many hours of volunteering in the community, Marion could be found catering for many events, selling tickets for the Borderland Racing Association, putting in hours at the Legion for “Crafts Galore,” and giving generously of her time and self for anyone who needed her.
Marion had a passion for playing cards, knitting, Bingo, and reading. Marion also had a great love for her four boys, their children, and her great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Larson, on June 19, 1998; two brothers, Roy and Duncan McDougall; four sisters, Florence, Irene, Jean, and Shirley Anne; and her father-in-law, Lars Larson.
Marion is survived by her mother-in-law, Anna Larson of Selkirk, Man.; four sons, Rick (Rose) of Vermilion Bay, Ont., Victor (Wendy) of Dryden, Ont., Lawrence (Patti) of Miscampbell, Ont., and Donald (Shirley) of Fort Frances, Ont., and John Bosma of Emo, Ont., who was like a son to her; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Cal), Craig, David (Alana), Holly (Mike) Larson-Lennox, Justin, Alyssa, and Jordan; and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Larson-Lennox.
Also surviving are two brothers, James (Evelyn) McDougall of Calgary, Alta., and Fred (Margorie) McDougall of Mulvihill, Man.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99 in Emo, with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating. Interment will take place in Mulvihill, Man. at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of her family and friends.
