ELLEN MAY STUTVOET

Ellen May Stutvoet passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2006 in the Continuing Care Unit at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
She is survived by her husband, Henry, and lovingly remembered by her sister, Georgina Whitlaw and her husband, John, of Winnipeg, Man.; as well as several nieces and nephews in Nolalu, Sudbury, and Sarnia, Ont., Fort Gratiote, Mich., and New Castle, N.B.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas James Code and Evelyn May (Steen) Code; and her younger sisters, Muriel Kiddle of Sudbury, Ont., Gwendolyn Mott of Sarnia, Ont., and Iris Allan of Atikokan, Ont.
Ellen was born in Port Arthur, Ont., on Oct. 19, 1919 and lived in Atikokan, Ont. from birth until she moved to Stratton, Ont. with her husband in 1961.
Ellen and Henry farmed for a number of years. During her farm years, she was active in 4-H and other community organizations. Ellen also worked as the clerk-treasurer of Morley Township for several years, retiring in 1984.
After retirement, she and Henry remained on the farm property for several years, and continued to enjoy camping and fishing with friends and family.
In 2003, they moved to the Morley Morningside Manor.
A memorial service for Ellen was held in Stratton on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. It was conducted by Rev. B. Miller.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the family plot at Stanley Hill Cemetery in Stanley, Ont.
