FRANCIS ALLAN HAW

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Francis Allan Haw, 70, of Fire Lake, Ont., on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the Atikokan General Hospital in Atikokan, Ont.
Francis was born Nov. 30, 1935 in Shenston Township, Ont. to the late Allan and Isabel Haw. He had lived all his life in Rainy River District, and for many years worked throughout Ontario in road construction until finally settling in Atikokan to work at the Caland Ore mine in 1966.
He worked at the mine until it closed in the early 1980s and would retire as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic in 2000.
Fran was always known for his warm and loving disposition, and conveyed the importance of honesty, hard work, and family values. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, singing, making fudge, tinkering in the garage, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Francis was united in marriage to the former Sarah Moore, who survives along with their five children, Carey (Cheryl) Haw and Michele (Dave) Barreira, all of Sudbury, Ont., Crystal (Troy) Golding of Thunder Bay, Ont., Trevor (Jennifer) Haw of Sudbury, Ont., and Sheldon (Missy) Haw of Atikokan, Ont.
He also will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren, Meghan, Jeremy, Brandon, Madison, Christian, and Owen; three sisters, Margaret (John) Brindle of London, Ont., Leta (Art) Lang of Dryden, Ont., and Helen Haw of Sarnia, Ont.; three step-brothers, George (Shirley) Sullivan, Glenn (Heather) Sullivan, and Ralph (Daryl) Sullivan, all of Hope, B.C.; one brother-in-law, Charles (Sharon) Moore of Ignace, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Allan Haw (1994) and Isabel Haw (1957); step-mother, Mary Haw (2004); and his parents-in-law, Reg Moore (1975) and Irene Moore (2002).
Friends visited with the family at the Faith Lutheran Church in Atikokan on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 7-8:30 p.m. and again Thursday, April 13, 2006 until 10:45 a.m.
Funeral services being held Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Atikokan.
Pastor Gerry Andersen officiated, followed by interment in Little Falls Cemetery in Atikokan.
The pallbearers were Alfred Veran, Scott Stevenson, Moe Tribe, Steve Politis, Howard Wiens, and Sandy Haney.
The honourary pallbearer was Mike Sorensen.
