Rainy River Valley Agricultural Fall Fair cancelled

The COVID-19 pandemic causes another cancellation. This time it’s the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Fall Fair. The Board of Directors announced last week that it was with much sadness this decision was made. They did feel it was the right decision for the safety of all people that would be attending.

The fair Board hopes to see the fair up and running and providing this poplar family and friend event August 19/21 2020.

There have been several vehicles broken into, in the Emo area. Folks are reminded to be sure to lock your vehicle in order to save yourself hardship.

Congratulations to Danielle Stamarski and Cole Quesnel on the birth of their daughter, Kenslee Jordan. Kenslee was born May 7.

Proud grandparents are Dale and Chris Stamarski, and Becky Chabot.

Proud first time grandparents are Luc and Leanne Quesnel.

Great grandparents are Linda and Fran Brigham and Glenda and Louis Quesnel and Cyril Chabot.

Congratulations to Jodi and Keith Caul on the celebration of their 40th. Your community wishes you many more happy years together.

Also congratulations to Randy Mctavish on his retirement. Randy retired in April after 40 plus years at Fairway/ Cloverleaf. He will be greatly missed as he always had a friendly smile, hello and was more than willing to help you in any way he could. Your community of friends and family wish you all the best on your recent retirement.

Get well wishes to Allan Jerry. Allan has been in Fort Frances Hospital for quite some time now. Our community sends him wishes for a full recovery.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Clarence Malcom from North West Bay. Your community is thinking of you at this sad time.

Also sympathy to the family and friends of Ken Hughes. Ken suffered a stroke last Thursday and passed Monday afternoon. He will be greatly missed by Cheryl and Chad and Tanya and his two grandchildren. Ken was my cousin and I remember many gathering , on the farm when we were kids. He was a great tease to many and he always had a mischievous smile on his face. He will be missed greatly by his family and coffee buddies.
