Kenora-Rainy River District Child and Family Services staff and “Backpacks for Kids” organizers were amazed by the generosity of the citizens of Fort Frances. A total of 299 backpacks filled with school supplies were donated to surpass this year’s campaign goal of 250 bags. It took over a dozen hands to empty the two vehicles full of bags and help transport the donations into the Child and Family Services’ office here Thursday. The donation are now ready to be delivered to local families and children for the start of the new school year. School starts for teachers on Tuesday, for students on Wednesday.
