The Portage Avenue underpass flooded as it struggled to deal with the aftermath of the heavy storm that passed through town yesterday. The underpass was closed for a couple of hours, but was reopened by 4 p.m. There was also plenty of water on downtown Scott Street as a watermain burst and caused a section of road to lift in front of the Royal Bank and The Bargain Shop. Crews from the Town of Fort Frances arrived on the scene to barricade off the westbound lane and throttled the main. The block was closed to traffic today for repairs.
