Donald Young School students tested their skills at the Mazinibii’an gaye Nisidotan station during the 20th-annual “Quest for Knowledge” event yesterday at Rainy River First Nation. The station’s English translation was “Draw it and Understand it” and it was in a Pictionary-style format where teams had to guess the Anishinaabeg word. In total, around 150 grade 5-8 students from nine different schools competed and had the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their Anishinaabeg language skills. The event was divided into two categories with junior being Grades 5-6 and senior being Grades 7-8. In the senior division, St. Francis School placed first, Mine Centre placed second, and Robert Moore placed third. In the Junior Division St. Francis received first place, Robert Moore placed second, and Crossroads landed third.
