Judy Kielczewski, centre, recently won first place at the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild’s annual convention in London Ont. with this elabourate hooked piece based on a vintage photo of young hockey players getting ready to play some shinny. Also pictured here are cousins, Jim Cumming, left, Blair Anderson, Doug Anderson, and Don Cumming who were among the youngsters depicted in the rug hooking piece. In addition to the wool used to hook the piece, leather was used on the skates, gloves, helmets and sleeves of the Muskie jacket.
