St. Francis students Landen and Layton Hanson swept the ice to get their team’s rock closest to the centre of the “house” while Reese Kabatay tried to get ahead of her rock to sweep it on Thursday at the curling rink here. As a part of the Healthy Schools Initiative, Derek Jones’ Grade 6 class visited the rink to learn about the basics of curling. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 provided financial support for the ice rental so the students could experience the sport.
