Members of the Kenora OPP, the Marine and Trails Unit (MTU), and the Forensic Identification Unit are investigating a fatal fire on Lake of the Woods.
On Monday, Feb. 18 around 1 p.m., the Kenora OPP was advised of a structure on fire on Kendal Inlet Road on Lake of the Woods.
Police arrived on the scene, along with the McKenzie Clearwater Fire, and observed a cottage fully engulfed in flames.
A single deceased male was located inside the structure.
The victim has been identified as Tyler Steek, 38, of Winnipeg.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate this incident.
