MARCELLA SPOON

December 27, 1975 – March 8, 2025

The family of Marcella Spoon announce her sudden passing on March 8, 2025, in Seine River. Marcella was born in Fort Frances on December 27, 1975, to Monty Spoon and Lillian Copenace (nee Cochrane). Left to cherish her memory are her children Daryl, Virgil, Danielle and Joelle; and the father of her children Vernon Menson. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters Dora Ottertail, Fred Boshkaykin, Janet B Spoon, Marcel Spoon, Monty Spoon Jr, Darren Spoon, Edna Copenace, Delbert Copenace (Marilyn) Janet C Johnson (Jeff ) Tina Spoon, Nathan Boshkaykin, Joanie Spoon; also surviving is her aunt Lila Boshkaykin and uncles Albert Cochrane and John Spoon Sr.; her nieces and nephews Janet LC Spoon (Javiner) Omega and Blade Lemieux (Rowlette) and too many to mention.

She was predeceased by her parents Monty Spoon and Lillian Copenace; her baby Baby Menson and Lennox Menson; her siblings Steven Copenace, Judy Copenace, Victor Copenace, Cynthia Spoon, Greg Spoon; cousin Mildred Harper; her aunts and uncles Mary Viver, Elsie Cupp, Isobel Cochrane, Alvina Cochrane, Harvey Cochrane, Wesley Cochrane and many others.

Marcella loved to watch hockey, especially her team the Toronto Maple Leafs, who she cheered on for every game. She loved antiquing when she would go out shopping. Bingo and fishing were her favourite things to do outside. She loved participating in community events near and far and loved traveling when possible. When she graduated high school she tried her hand at Law School putting over a year under her belt and then changed paths to motherhood.

A wake was held to celebrate Marcella’s life on Friday, March 14, at 4:00 p.m. in Seine River First Nation at the gymnasium, with a traditional service on Saturday, March 15, at 10:00 a.m. Interment took place at Crilly Spoon cemetery.

Pallbearers were friends and family and honorary pallbearers were Janet Johnson, Janet LC Spoon, Nathan Boshkaykin, Lila Boshkaykin, Jolin White, Toni Collins.
