RHONDA LEANNE FOWLER

The family of Rhonda Fowler are heartbroken to share that she passed away suddenly on November 4, 2025, at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, surrounded by her husband and daughters.

Rhonda was born on October 17, 1958, in Atikokan, Ontario, to Richard and Lynn Johnson and married to Bill Fowler in 1980 of Atikokan. She grew up with her brothers Glenn (Laurie) Johnson, Allen (Leah) Johnson, and sister Lisa (Jeff) James, and together they shared a lifetime of laughter, stories, and memories.

She leaves behind her loving husband Bill of 45 years, and her three daughters Dana (Melinda), Crystal, and Terri (Brendan) — the pride and joy of her life. Rhonda was also a devoted grandma to Austin, Hailey (Sam), Natalie (Garrett), and Cash, who all adored their “Granny Rhonda.”

She will also be deeply missed by mother-in-law Lois Fowler and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Dick and Lynn Johnson and sister-in-law Florence Meakin.

Rhonda spent 22 years working at Walmart as a Customer Service Representative, where she became a familiar, friendly face and touched the lives of countless people in her community. Her kindness and laughter made everyone’s day a little brighter.

She loved fishing, hunting, and camping were some of her favourite ways to spend time – and she never turned down a game of cards or dice. Family barbecues, casino trips, and get-togethers were where she was happiest, surrounded by the people she loved most.

Rhonda will always be remembered for her kind heart, great sense of humour, and incredible strength. She was a true fighter, bravely beating lung cancer and breast cancer before facing an aggressive cancer of the esophagus and stomach. Through it all, she never lost her smile or her spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held in June 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Rhonda at cancer.ca.

Rhonda’s strength, laughter, and love will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
