The family sadly announces the passing of Mike Thompson, 59, of Emo, Ont., on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mike was born April 17, 1955 in Atikokan, Ont. to Jean and the late Eldon Thompson.
Mike is survived by his children, Micheal, Melanie, and Warren; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and mother, Jean Steele.
Also surviving are his brothers, Vernon (Doreen), Clarence (Judy), and Jim (Kelly), and sisters, Cindy (Darren), Wendy (Jim), and Arlene (Ed), and their families.
He also is survived by special friend Chris (Ken) Young and Tina Steele; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and special friends.
Mike was predeceased by his stepfather, Gary Steele; sister, Bonnie; and grandmother, Blanche Vold (Jewell).
A celebration of Mike’s life was held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.
A luncheon followed at Royal Canadian Legion in Emo.
Interment will take place in the Emo Cemetery at a later date.
