The family of Marilynn Ann McKinnon (nee McCoy) announce her passing with her family by her side on October 31, 2025, at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Marilynn was born in Fort Frances on September 16, 1940, to Joseph and Jessie (Hughes) McCoy. She was united in marriage to Kenneth McKinnon on May 13, 1961.
She was active in the community as a member of the Guthrie United Church, UCW in Devlin since 1970, The Bigfork Community Club, The Rainy River District School Board, The Emo Fair, Elections Scrutineer and TOPS. She enjoyed curling, bowling and playing cards with various friends over the years. Also, reading was a favourite pastime and watching the Toronto Blue Jays games.
Marilynn and Ken enjoyed various trips to various places, one of her favourites being the Dominican. Her pride and joy was to be involved in her grandchildren’s activities, hockey, swimming or whatever she was there, she wouldn’t miss it for the world.
She was predeceased by her parents Jessie and Joe McCoy; her brothers Ross, Hugh (Katey) McCoy; her sisters Grace (George) Roy, Sandra (Jack) McConnell.
Marilynn leaves behind her husband of 64 years Ken McKinnon; sons Trevor (Joleigh), Tyler (Anne); grandchildren Samantha (Tyler), Cassidy (Jamie), Cameron (Kaya); great-granddaughter Marlee; brother Gordon (Lynn) McCoy; sister Debbie (Robert) Pihulak.
A celebration of life was held on November 10, 2025, at Guthrie United Church in Devlin, Ont.
