Marian Medicine, 85 years old, of Rainy River First Nations, Ontario, passed away February 6, 2026, at Rainycrest Nursing Home in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Her husband was also of Rainy River First Nations, the late Dave Medicine Sr.
Marian was born February 5, 1941, in Ponemah (Obaashing) in the Red Lake reservation band of Chippewa Indians to the late Bella Horton, mother and Simon Kingbird, both of Obaashing, Minn., U.S.A.
Marians surviving children include Dave Jr., Myron and numerous nephews, nieces and numerous great, great, great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by children Arnold, Darrell, Kevin and daughter Glendoris.
A traditional wake was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Rainy River First Nation Gymnasium with traditional funeral on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
Funeral elder was Tommy Councillor.
