It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eddie Tetu, 82, of Stratton, Ont., at his residence on January 20, 2026.
Eddie was born in Fort Frances on November 29, 1943, to parents Laurie and Clara Tetu. After his schooling, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fire fighter serving at bases in Manitoba, Quebec and Sudbury, Ontario, where he continued to work.

Eddie came back to Stratton in the 1970’s where he settled and worked as a general contractor till retirement. He worked on the construction of many homes in the district and as well as larger projects, including water treatment plants and the Interpretive Centre on the Mounds at Rainy River First Nation.
Eddie was a generous man who was willing to help anyone at anytime.
At times Eddie showed a dry sense of humour, which some found comical… others, possibly, not so much!
Eddie was united in marriage to Lois Lange on April 13, 1974, and together they settled just north of Stratton.
Eddie is survived by his wife Lois of 51 years; daughter and son Tina and Mark; grandchildren Kristopher and Michelle; siblings Lorraine (Ken) McDonald, Shirley Henrotte; sisters-in-law Diane Devlin, Marlene Pastuck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents Clara and Laurie Tetu; auntie Aggie and Uncle Hube Pearson whom he appreciated and deeply respected; his daughter Melanie; brother Gerald (Sue) Tetu, Georgette Gill (Arnie); brothers-in-law Rodney Lange, Dave Pastuck and Lloyd Henrotte.
A private grave side service will take place in Stratton cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
