With sorrow the family shares the passing of our mother Ellan Kawulia, known as Jessie and in the inner circle as Jay.
She passed in La Verendrye Hospital with family by her side after a sudden illness overcame her at her residence in Rainycrest.
She was born on the fifth of April 1937, in Chapple Township to Robert and Sadie Truelove where she shared her youth with four sisters (Alice, Florence, Ethel and Berniece) and two brothers (Albert and Charles).

Mom lived a very full life after moving to town and living with the Pollard family whom she loved and visited through her life. She married Mitch Kawulia and had two sons Terry and Ricky, then started creating her future, building a dream home which she kept immaculate as well as the yard outside, then life at the cabin with all the cherished memories of sharing with the many people and local wildlife. Traveling to many parts of the world broadened her perspective on life, meeting her boys in locals such as Fiji, Bahamas, Law Vegas and Thailand. The jewel of her heart was born in Australia, so of course it was off to see Rick and Deb, so she could hold her grandson Bohdi. Luckily she was able to spend time with him each year for much of his youth and even up to her latter years, including her last summer.
Mom was full of vibrant energy like the shrew and she applied it to all she did, including standing up for herself right to the end.
She made many friends throughout her life, many of them while working at Rainycrest. If you knew mom you loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband Mitch; her sister Florence and brother Charles.
Mom was cremated and as to her wishes there will be no service.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
