DENIS JOSEPH DUHAMEL

Sadly, Denis Joseph Duhamel passed away peacefully at 80 years old in Rainy River, Ont.

Denis was born on September 6, 1945 in Rainy River. He lived the early part of his life in Pinewood and eventually moved to Atikokan with his young family for work in the mid 60’s. Nicknamed ‘Dangerman’ (TV Series 1960-1968) for his imposing size, quick temper, and dark good looks, Denis had many friends in the logging industry from which he retired in the early 90’s after having a fall, injuring his rotator cuff. After a difficult recovery from multiple surgeries, Denis learned other ways to make a living; working at a convenience store; sourcing firewood in the bush, to receiving and preparing the Thunder Bay Chronicle Journal (with spouse).

Denis was predeceased by his spouse Carole Elliot; brother Ron Duhamel; and parents Hortence and John Baptiste Duhamel.

He is survived by his son Denis; daughter Monique; sisters Therese, Rita and Anita; brother Norman; along with eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thank you for the condolences to family, in memory of Denis, remember your family and neighbours; and do something kind every day, as Denis would say, your reward is in heaven.

Denis’ funeral will occur at a later date in better weather with a service in Rainy River, Ontario.

Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
