Naicatchewenin Bass and Walleye Classic this weekend

The annual Naicatchewenin Bass and Walleye Classic takes place this weekend September 12 and 13. This is a catch and release tournament. Entry fee is $400 per team. Boats launch at at 8 a.m. and weigh-ins start at 4 p.m. Call Connie at 807-276-7998 for further information.

The LaVallee Senior’s Commitee would like to invite all seniors and their families and friends (of all ages, to a picnic at the Devlin Ball Diamond on Sunday, September 14. The picnic will start at 2 p.m. and supper will be served from 4-5 p.m. Hotdogs, hamburgers, salads, baked beans, corn and ice cream will be served. Water, ice-tea and bottled water will be available. There are horseshoes and corn hole to be enjoyed, plus a baseball field for those who wish to play. There is playground equipment for the youth.

Please bring your own lawn chair. No pets please.

The Senior’s Coffee Break resume this Tuesday, September 16, from 1-3 p.m. at the Devlin Hall. Paramedic Donna O’Sullivan and her team will be at this coffee break. She will be taking blood pressures and other vital signs and always available to discuss health issues with all those attending.

Coffee breaks will continue every second Tuesday following this coffee break.

Seniors Bingo starts up Thursday, September 18. This event also takes place at the Devlin Hall starting at 1 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

LaVallee senior’s yoga will start up on October. Date not yet determined.

Knox United Church in Emo will hold a church service this Sunday, September 14, starting at 10 a.m.

Emo Legion will start their Wednesday Cribbage games on Wednesday (September 10)at 7 in the clubroom.

Seniors bowling is every Thursday morning starting at 9 a.m. at the Legion. Followed by a luncheon.

There is a corn hole tournament this Friday, September 12. The tournament is filled, however spectators are welcome. The canteen and bar is available for all attending.

Bingo resumes at the Emo Legion on September 16.

This Saturday, September 13, The Fugitives Dance Band will be playing at the Legion. There are a few tickets available. Call the Legion at 482-2250 for more information.

Last week’s Beer and Burger saw Nicole Drennan and Libby Palezny win the two meat draws.

Alberton is holding a Garage Sale Trail on September 13th from 8 a.m. until noon.

Anyone from Alberton can register for $5 to take part in this garage sale. Call the Alberton Township Office for more information.

A New Coffee Break season with a meet and greet (coffee and goodies) will take place Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church, 18 Meadow Street in Emo.

All ladies are invited to come out for a morning fellowship with other woman and find out more about coffee break. Coffee break is a nondenominational small group Bible Study that’s open to all women in the community. There is a nursery provided for infants and toddlers. Congratulations to Nicole Beadle and Erik Olson. The couple were wed Saturday, September 6, at a beautiful outside wedding. The community sends you both wishes for many years of happiness. Proud parents are Sandy Beadle and Bev Olson.

Congratulations to Linda and Allan Empey on their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple shared this special day on August 31st.
