The 125th Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society Fall Fair takes place this week, from August 14-16, 2025. Along with the midway, great food, stock-car races, the parade and so much more there is the added excitement of the 125th anniversary of the fair, plus the chance to meet up with people you only see at fair time.
This year the first Fair Ambassador has been chosen. Alexis Latter will represent the District Fair. Congratulations to Alexis. Hopefully many people attending the fair will have a chance to speak to Alexis. I know she will do the fair proud with her enthusiasm and excitement of this achievement.
A much appreciated improvement has been made to the grandstand. Handrails have been recently placed in the grandstand. This will make getting to your seat easier and safer for everyone. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. See you all at the Fair!

Sharing sympathy to the family and friends of Joyce Graham. Joyce and her husband Ron raised their three daughters in Burriss. Joyce was an amazing cook and baker. Many of her recipes in school cookbooks are still used by many. Her care and nurturing will be missed by all that knew her.

Be sure to purchase a ticket while attending the fair this weekend on a beautiful boat, motor and trailer pkg. Tickets are $20 each. This is a fundraiser for the WRRD Lions Club. The draw takes place September 20th. The WRRD Lions Club does an abundance of good works throughout district.

Robin’s 2 cents:
The teacher said to Little Johnny, “I wish you would pay a little more attention in school!”
Little Johnny says:” Well, I’m paying as little attention as possible.”
