Winter (Biboon) Carnival hosted by Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre, UNFC and Weechi-it-te-win Family services. Saturday Feb. 7 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski club. Food, prizes, dog sledding, snow shoeing, skiing and other activities. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Monday Feb. 9 is the next free performance of Kids & Company featuring the puppet play “Somebody Loves you Mr. Hatch.” “Mr. Hatch leads a predictable and dreary life; he keeps to himself. One Valentine’s Day, he unexpectedly receives a heart-shaped package with an anonymous note that whispers, “somebody loves you,” and everything changes. This heartwarming puppet play examines the effect that kindness can have on a lonely existence. Join washerwomen Betsy, Edna, and Molly as they bring Mr. Hatch’s story to life and help him search for his secret admirer!”

The Rainy Lake Readers Book Club meets the third Tuesday of each month from 6:00-7:45 at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre. Visit the Library and check out the display of this month’s book selections. New members always welcome.

Memory Lane Cafe with the Alzheimer Society Kenora and Rainy River Districts. A space where individuals living with dementia and their care partners can socialize, and enjoy engaging activities. The Fort Frances Lakers are always open to new gameday volunteers– Positions include camera operators, Stats keepers, camera operators, beer garden servers and security, and raffle sales. The Rainycrest Tuck Shop is accepting donations– The Tuck Shop is open to residents, family, staff and visitors. Great items for donation are things like large stuffed bears, gift items and items for residents to place on their night stands or wall/door. Proceeds from the Tuck Shop go to the Rainycrest Auxiliary, and benefit residents. Donations can be dropped off inside the main entrance, labelled ATTN: Tuck Shop.
Rainycrest Auxiliary Membership – New members are always welcome and current members are reminded to renew their membership dues are $10 per year starting in 2026 and can be paid at the Tuck Shop or by calling 274-6954 (Judy) or 271-4114 (Donna).
