Joey Payeur, left, was joined by Cassandra Armstrong as he closed in on the finish line of his personal “50 for the Thousands” campaign on Friday. Payeur chose two days in July to walk a combined 50km along the Fort Frances waterfront in honour and memory of those impacted by residential schools, as well as the recently re-discovered graves being found at a number of former residential school sites across the country. He has also been making regular posts on his Facebook page to help raise awareness of a number of different charities who directly contribute and support Indigenous causes across Canada. Armstrong joined Payeur for the final 10km of his walk on Friday.
