Difficult steps

Dear sir:
After reading Mr. Vandetti’s column, in regard to the steps leading into the Townshend Theatre, I decided I should send a letter stating my views regarding the problem.
I, too, have difficulty getting up and down these steps.
Because of cataracts on both eyes, my perception of depth is not the best and I’m always afraid of stumbling on the steps, which I sometimes do.
If someone was not with me, it would be a big problem.
Couldn’t a metal strip (of a different colour) be attached to the edge of each step? It would make them much safer for elderly people.
Sincerely,
Joyce Barron
